Caroline Golarz

Caroline approaches landscape design as a living art form. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from Western Washington University and certifications in Water Harvesting and Colorado Gardening (2024), she brings a rare convergence of ecological knowledge and artistic vision to every project. Her background in large-scale botanical installation — creating living artworks that merge creativity with ecology — gives her designs a compositional depth that goes well beyond plant selection.

Since joining Columbine in 2023, Caroline has focused on designing Durango-area gardens that actively support biodiversity, native pollinators, and sustainable water use. She believes every garden, however small, holds the power to make a meaningful ecological contribution — and she designs accordingly. A working artist herself, Caroline continues to create artwork inspired by plants and pollinators, and that creative practice visibly informs the spaces she builds.

Every garden is an opportunity for ecological impact.
