A steep, south-facing slope is not a problem to be solved — it is a system to be understood. On this challenging site, we designed a network of spillways and rain basins that slow, spread, and sink water into the hillside, turning gradient into an asset.
Blue totem spruces punctuate the slope as structural anchors. A carefully edited mix of xeric shrubs stabilises the soil and manages itself across seasons. The earthworks, now functioning as intended, are the quiet engine beneath a landscape that looks effortless.
