Reclaimed, Then Given Back

Surrounded by tall evergreens with a creek nearby, this property had the bones of a remarkable landscape — buried under decades of aggressive spreaders. We began by removing what had taken over, then worked with what remained.

A restored flagstone path, extended and connected throughout the garden, anchors the composition. Creeping thyme fills the joints; native columbine and bluemat penstemon line the edges. Gro-low sumac, little bluestem, and contrasting textures build a resilient planting that asks little and returns much.
