A well-designed landscape matures. Plants find their form, canopy closes in, the soil ecology develops, and the planting — if it was conceived well — begins to look like it belongs. That process takes time, attentive observation, and skilled hands.
Our ongoing care programme is for clients who want their landscape to realise its full potential. We can see when something is thriving and when something needs adjusting. We work with the seasonal rhythms of the mountain landscape rather than against them.
We provide ongoing stewardship on a schedule matched to your landscape's needs — typically monthly visits through the growing season, with spring and autumn sessions that prepare the planting for seasonal transitions.
Each visit is guided by what the landscape tells us. Ongoing care slowly improves plant health, pollinator-friendly habitats and, by improving grading and soil health, we support the land to absorb water. This ecological approach to stewardship gives you the chance to enjoy being outside in nature:
“Nurture nature. Nurture yourself.”

The design anticipates how the planting will develop — but it takes an informed eye to support that development through the inevitable surprises of weather, wildlife, and the nature of living systems.
If you are considering ongoing care for a landscape we did not design, please get in touch. We are selective about taking on care for other designers' work, but where a landscape has ecological intelligence and genuine design intent, we are interested in the conversation.
Ongoing care is currently available for landscapes within the Durango and Four Corners service area. For clients in the wider Mountain West region, we offer periodic remote consultation and annual review calls as part of the design relationship.

We would be glad to walk you through what our ongoing care program might look like on your property. Every site is different — the topography, the soil, the existing plantings, the microclimate — and we work site-specifically from the very first conversation.
