The Design Process

Our landscape designs benefit you & the piece of nature you call home.

Many people install lawns in their landscape for lack of a better idea. Our mission is to provide you with a better idea that is cost effective, beautiful, and more ecologically friendly than all the watering and mowing that traditional lawns require. We have seen how nurturing pollinators with a diversity of plants benefits our clients by surrounding them with nature. It’s a well-known fact that spending time in nature increases focus, creativity, overall health, a sense of well-being and helps to decrease stress.

Initial Consultation

Our designer meets with you on-site to discuss your needs and desires, and goes over what we can offer. We will make every attempt to understand what you want, and would love for you to:

  • Show us pictures
  • Tell us about the things you’ve seen and liked
  • Share any strong likes or dislikes

All these things contribute to the creative process and pave the way to your vision. Then we can determine if what you envision is affordable, practical, functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Assessment

We determine the scope of work and a fair price for your project and you pay half at this time for us to start working on the design. Once you make this commitment, we take a property analysis, and formal measurements. Providing us a property blueprint or plat map saves us steps and helps to keep your cost down.

Design

During this phase we develop the design for your landscape. We select adapted and native, water-wise, and deer resistant plants with long season interest and low maintenance requirements. We make a point of creating landscapes that are aesthetically pleasing at all times of year.

Next, we present our vision for your new landscape through the design we’ve prepared. With CAD drawings, we walk you through your new landscape on-site and get your approval or discuss any changes you’d like to see. Once you’ve approved the final design, we provide you a cost estimate for installation and establish the timeline for installation.
